All the facilities on Orange Grove have been designed to maximise health and safety, and provide the best feed and exercise regimes required to produce sound, running, horses.
The Barn:

Quarantine Area:
Strict quarantine protocols are practised at all times.
Vetshed:
Designed and built with horse safety the priority as are all facilities on the farm.
Horse Walker:
An eight horse walker ideal for conditioning and developing muscle tone in young horses.
Fencing:
Post, rail, netting and a hotwire for all paddocks utilised by young horses
Accommodation:
A comfortable, air conditioned cottage is available for use by clients wanting to spend time with their horses.
Soils and Pastures
Previously used as a cattle paddock, Orange Grove is free of the disease risks endemic to soils that have been subject to a long history of heavy horse populations.
Soils range from the supremely fertile floodplain silts of the Goonoo Goonoo creek, to rich chocolate and red alluviums.
Water:
The abundant irrigation water and 28" rainfall allows us to grow our own hay, ensuring supply and quality. Barley and oats are grown in alternate years for grain and straw.
Pastures:
Improved pastures of lucerne, clover, cocksfoot, phalaris, and rye for wet mares, weanlings and yearlings
Paddocks of native grasses are retained for dry mares and are particularly useful when a move to a rising plane of nutrition is required prior to joining.
